In 1991 LVTGO “Gelbekit Vaikus” was established.
In November 16, 2006 the organization was renamed VO “Gelbekit Vaikus” 
In 1995 VO Lithuania ratifies the International Children’s Rights Convention, thanks to the support of VO “Gelbekit Vaikus”. In 1995  due to VO “GV” efforts, The Child’s Right and Protection Control bureau was created.
In 1995 with ‘GV’ support, the Seimas of  Republic of Lithuania created a  commission dedicated to family and child welfare.
From 1996, Lithuanian schools created 104 groups against children’s violence. They have over 1000 young members.
From 1996, Lithuania established 30 youth day centers. At this time, the centers work with 630 children and 421 families.
The project youth home “Zuvedra” has been working from 1996.
From 1998, 2 library buses were active in Silutes and Rokiskes areas.
From 2007, only 1 library bus remains active in the Anyksciai area.
In 1998, the permanent “A. Lindgren and Child Rights” Library was established in Druskininkai.
In 2001, VO “GV” became an associate member of the International  Save the Children Alliance. In 2004, Vo “GV” became a fulltime International Save the Children Alliance member. Since 2004,  VO “GV” along with the Lithuanian Republic Ministry of Social Security and Labour has implemented the public awareness program “Violence Against Children- No!”.
In 2006, a law against hitting children was incorporated into the country’s political child welfare plan.
By 2008 VO “GV” has 20 structural units in Lithuania, 676 members, and 50 volunteers.
